How often does BackupMaster perform backups?

BackupMaster performs automated daily backups every 24 hours.

Can I perform manual backups?

Yes, we recommend performing manual backups before making major changes to your store.

Where are backups stored?

Your backup data is securely stored in BackupMaster's cloud storage, hosted on Microsoft Azure. This ensures that your data is protected with top-notch security and reliability.

Can I download my backups or upload them to Google Drive?

Yes, you can download your backup data to your local storage or upload it to Google Drive for added security. However, these features are only available on the PRO plan or higher. BackupMaster saves your data in our cloud backup storage, hosted on Microsoft Azure. This flexibility allows you to follow the 3-2-1 backup rule:

  1. Three total copies of your data.
  2. Two copies stored locally (on different devices).
  3. One copy stored off-site (e.g., in the cloud).

Can I use backups to upload data to a new Shopify store?

Yes, you can use backups created by BackupMaster to upload data to a new Shopify store. However, these features are only available on the PRO plan or higher. This is particularly useful for staging environments or when expanding your business to new locations.

How is the initial backup different from daily backups?

The initial backup is a comprehensive backup of your entire store's data, which can take some time. Subsequent backups are much quicker because they only need to back up new data since the previous backup.

Does the backup process affect my store’s performance?

No, the backup process is non-intrusive and does not slow down your store or interfere with other processes.

How can I check my backup schedule?

You can check your allocated backup time in the Settings of the BackupMaster app.

Can I change the backup time?

Yes, if the allocated time does not meet your needs, contact our support team at support@backupmaster.io to adjust the backup time to your desired slot.

What should I do if I encounter issues with backups?

If you encounter any issues during the backup process, contact our support team for assistance through the app or via our Help Center.

How can I monitor the backup progress?

You can monitor the progress of your backups directly within the BackupMaster app, which provides real-time updates and email notifications when the backup is complete.

How long will the backup take?

The initial backup can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on your store's size and data. Subsequent backups are usually much quicker, as they only back up new data since the previous backup.

Will you be able to back up pages created by third-party apps?

We can back up pages created by page builder apps like PageFly and Shogun. Since these pages are published on Shopify, our app can access and back them up as usual. However, some parts of the pages created in such page builders cannot be backed up because, for example, Shogun stores the images on their servers, and we don't have access to them. It is advisable to check these pages in the backup storage to ensure they are backed up correctly and contact the support team of the page builder app to ask where they store your data and if it is possible to back it up.

Do you back up the Settings?

Unfortunately, we cannot back up Shopify stores’ or other apps' settings. This action requires permissions that Shopify does not provide us access to. View the full list of what we can and can't back up in our Help Center.
